However, if you'll be using the StreamCam on a more substantial member of the best gaming desk family that extra weight will keep the camera firmly in place throughout your stream. On a thinner laptop like the MSI Stealth 15M we tested on, the bulk of the camera itself caused the screen to tilt backward unless we balanced the weight just so - which didn't always make for the best framing. There's a considerable weight here which, while hinting at the raw power inside, can become a little unwieldy. While the entire body is made out of plastic, there's no mistaking this device for a cheap webcam once it's in the hand.

With a blocky rectangular design that spreads further out towards the lens in true movie maker fashion. The Logitech StreamCam certainly sets itself apart on the shelves. While most streaming services favour a horizontal approach, we don't really see this additional functionality being used too often, though. You're also getting plenty of mounting options here, with a unique square shaped design that means you'll be able to shoot both horizontally and vertically as well. That's going to be a problem if your rig doesn't have a spare USB-C port, but if you can make the space for it the extra power is well worth a rewiring exercise.

Linked is my guide to the best settings for the Logitech Brio. The super-fast 1080p 60fps capture is, however, only made possible by the USB-C connection hardwired directly into the back of the webcam itself. OBS gives the most control over the Brio compared to other programs. To change additional settings, click configure video. You can change the frame rate, resolution, and color space from this window. In OBS, click your camera source and click properties. You can change both camera and video options here and set them as a custom preset. In Logitech G Hub, click your device in the middle of the screen. To change the frame rate and resolution, click the camera icon on the upper left. In this window you can change most of the Brio's settings such as the field of view and white balance. In Logi Capture select your camera source on the top left.

The Logitech Brio webcam’s settings can be changed in Logitech Capture, Logitech G-hub and Open Broadcaster Software Studio. It is then detected as a webcam for immediate use in any program that is compatible with webcams like Zoom.

It automatically installs drivers to your computer the first time you plug it in.

How do you install the Logitech Brio webcam? It uses a USB 3.0 Type C to Type A cable that is included in the box. You can also fix this in video editing software. But basically you can just add a 150 ms sync offset in OBS to fix this. I'll link a video going over different ways to deal with it. It's not a lot, and it's pretty easy to fix. This delay means if you're using a separate mic (which I recommend), you might have some desync in your audio. When I was making videos on my laptop, I didn't even know this was a problem until I built a new PC, which is way faster and has faster USB ports, but there's still more delay. This varies a bit depending on the program being used and the computer you're using.

On my main PC, the Logitech Brio takes about 100-150 ms to process the image in OBS. But if you really need that feature, that's where you'll find it. That webcam definitely does not look as good as the Brio. The only webcam I've used that doesn't have this problem at all is the AVerMedia Live Streamer CAM 513 (my comparison). This is really annoying and there's not a viable workaround besides the half-functional G Hub. The first problem I've already mentioned which is no real ability to have settings that persist after unplugging the webcam or rebooting the system. Here are 3 biggest problems I've had with the Brio since buying it: I've seen a lot of reviews mention the HDR, but I've never seen any review actually demonstrate the HDR.Ĭan you see a difference between the two images with HDR on vs off? Me neither. I hypothesize that the HDR on this webcam is just marketing. Among other ways to check, like MediaInfo, the file doesn't show as HDR when you upload it to YouTube. In addition, the footage recorded with HDR on while using Logi Capture is definitely NOT 10-bit HDR footage. I have a 4K HDR monitor, but I can't see any difference whatsoever when enabling HDR in Logi Capture or Logitech G Hub. The last thing I want to talk about in regards to software is HDR or High Dynamic Range.

Getting your OBS footage into Zoom is easy with my guide. You also can't zoom in or change your field of view if you don't want so much of the background showing. The Brio can be used directly in video conferencing software like Zoom, Skype, or Microsoft Teams, but the downside to this is you get almost no control over your webcam at all, so your image basically looks trash.
